The student-teacher ratio varies from class to class and from year to year. Our preschool class maintains an 8:1 student to adult ratio. Our kindergarten through 5th grade classes have no more than 20 students.
Yes! We encourage parents to work with their child’s teacher to determine the best way to help. All adults must complete a background check and short training before volunteering in the school.
Each student's academic progress is monitored in numerous ways. Student growth and understanding is evaluated through classroom discussions, group projects, rubrics, individual assessments, and standardized assessments. By measuring student progress in these various ways, teachers gain a thorough understanding of a student's capabilities, depth of understanding, and areas to improve.
The love and grace of Jesus is incorporated in all we do. All our classes participate in Chapel once a week. Grades 1-5 participate in Bible lessons with the Pastor twice a week. Scripture verses are also taught weekly.
Yes! Sunbeams Lutheran School is a ministry of Lutheran Church of the Cross. We are members of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod and the National Lutheran Schools Association.
All families are invited to join us for Sunday worship services at 9:30 am. Sunday School and Adult Bible Class follow worship at 11:15. You can find more information by clicking 'Church' in the menu.
