Dear Parents,
We are off to a new and different learning experience this year. So to help make this an easier transition from face to face learning in the classroom I put together some helpful tips and expectations.
Remote learners should have a dedicated place for schoolwork.
They will be expected to log into Zoom on time each Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15AM with a parent.
The student should have his/her name tag for attendance and items needed for that day if specified in the lesson plans.
You will also receive a packet of journal pages. Please do these activities after our zoom lesson as we usually have our students journal about the topic of the day.
I would ask that you not work ahead on the art projects as they will go with the theme of the day.
There will be a packet for each day that will/may contain cutting practice, writing practice, a color page, and an art project that will either go with our unit study or Bible lesson of the day.
On our school website there is a remote learning tab. Find your class under Mrs. Eisen and there will be an extra video and story to listen to and watch.
I may also have you log into EPIC for further reading and listening.
It will be helpful to have these school supplies at home.
Washable markers
Water color paint set with paint brush
Set of washable tempera paints (primary colors)
Kindergarten pencils
Colored playdough for science
Glue sticks and white school glue
Fiskars child size scissors
There will a packet pick up and return every two weeks. Schedule to be determined.
I will want to see cutting samples and writing samples. You can send samples back on packet pick up day or post pictures on Seesaw. I love seeing their work and it helps me to know how they are progressing. Projects will be show and tell. (usually a favorite activity for students and teacher) 🙂
If you have any questions please let me know. I will be setting up our class list on Seesaw and you will receive an invitation to join.
You may reach me at leisen@sunbeamslutheranschool.com or Seesaw. I will endeavor to respond within 24 hours of receiving a communication. However I will do class announcements via Seesaw , so please join when you receive the invitation.
I am looking forward to a great learning experience this year with your student and family!
